<p>Riyad Bank received the golden certificate (Tier Gold Certification of Operational Sustainability) from “Up Time”, the American institute specialized in evaluating data centers around the globe. The prize is an unprecedented achievement in the Middle East and North Africa region, as no bank in the region has ever achieved this before.</p><p>(Tier 3 Certification) is the most recognized certificate in international standards for the reliability and performance of data centers in terms of both operations and stainability of the data, taking into account the operational sustainability standards for owners, managers, operators of data centers, behaviors and priority risks in data center operations and applying the recommended behavior in achieving access to the full performance of installed infrastructure, while reducing risk of downtime and avoiding human errors.</p><p>Ayedh Alzahrani, Executive Vice President of Business Technology Division at Riyad Bank, indicated that the data center at the bank was built according to the long-term operational &amp; sustainable criteria, including three key elements: management, operations, and characteristics of the building and location, which affect the performance at the topographical level of data centers. This global certification cannot be obtained without achieving these operating and sustainability standards, in addition to completing all the activities of the center without human intervention, while increasing the efficiency of energy use, maintaining the functions of information technology and supporting the effective operation of the information and data center.</p><p>It is worth to mention that Riyad Bank won two prizes from the same institute before. The first prize was for designing and planning Tier 3 Data Center, which is awarded to the best planning building for data center, while the second prize was for up time Tier 3 Data center, awarded to the best application of standards and metrology.</p>
